Man arrested after he confessed in church that he murdered his friend whom he was owing N30k

A 23-year-old man, Obinna Maxwell, is in the custody of Lagos State police following a confession in church that he killed his friend.

Maxwell was arrested by the police last month after his confession to a large congregation of the Lord's Chosen Church at Ijesha, Lagos, that he killed his friend, Elijah.

He said that he stuffed Elijah's corpse in a 'Ghana-must-go' bag and dumped the corpse by a dump site at Orile-Iganmu.

Fed. Govt. 17-storey building where criminals rape, torture, kill their victims & share their loot is uncovered in Lagos

An abandoned 17-storey building where criminals rape, kill victims and share their loot, has been uncovered in Oto-Awori Local Council Development Area, Lagos.

The uncompleted building, has been a notorious hideout for criminals in the area. Residents said that criminals usually share their loot inside the uncompleted building.

Recently, a security man attached to the LCDA identified as Moshood Afolabi, was found dead in the 17- storey building after he was declared missing by the family.

His disappearance was said to have been reported to the local vigilance group by his family after four days of searching for him when he did not return from his usual night watch.

30 die in Lagos-Ore express way, Ijebu Ode Multiple Accident

No fewer than 30 persons were killed while several others were critically injured yesterday at the ever-busy Mabolufon Junction, Ijebu-Ode in Ogun State stretch of the Lagos-Ore Expressway when a truck ran over them.

 According to an eyewitness, the victims, who were mostly roadside traders and commuters waiting to board vehicles going to Lagos were said to have been run over by the truck bearing flower after it had rammed into a passenger bus believed to be going to Lagos State from Ondo.

Tragedy struck at the nation’s premier university, the University of Ibadan (UI), as the Dean, Faculty of Arts, Professor Kolawole Aderemi Olu-Owolabi, slumped and died at Mokola area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Sunday.

The late Prof. Olu-Owolabi slumped and died in his car while on his way to the market to purchase school items for one of his sons who was to resume school next Monday.

The police in Ipaja-Ayobo area of Lagos have arrested a man who allegedly defiled eight children.

He is now being detained, awaiting arraignment in court. The suspect, Mr. Temitope Alo was arrested on Saturday at Koloba area of Ayobo after the children allegedly confessed that he had raped them.
