Woman sent into Kirikiri for forcing a 13 year old into prostitution

A 30-year old woman, Toyin Akinmola, has been sent to the Kirikiri prisons in Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria after she was accused of forcing a 13-year girl into prostitution.

Firework factory blasts kill 14 in China


Explosions have ripped through two fireworks factories in China killing 14 people and injuring 13, state media reported.

Hundreds of people mourn Crash Victims in Lagos with Candle Lights


Mourning continued in Lagos on Sunday, with a candlelight memorial service in honour of the victims of the crashed Dana Airline plane.

Organised by a non-governmental organisation, S.E.E.D.S, 'Safe, Efficient, Excellent, Developed, and Secure', the gathering attracted hundreds of people, who were at the Muri Okunola Park to mourn the departed and sympathise with their loved ones.

Dangote is back to being Stock Exchange President

Alhaji Aliko Dangote, will tomorrow take over as the President of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), following the ruling of the Court of Appeal in Lagos last Friday upholding his three appeals against cases that led to the nullification of his election as president of the exchange.

Update on the Sunday Bombings in Kaduna & Zaria

About 40 persons were feared killed on Sunday in Kaduna and Zaria as suicide bomber attacked 3 churches.

15 people were killed on the 2 churches in Zaria and 1 church in Kaduna while 25 persons were killed in reprisals by angry youths in the 2 cities.

Over 40 persons were seriously injured and rushed to the  Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Shika in Zaria and St. Louis, Wusasa.

However, the exact figure of those that died in the Kaduna blast at the Shalom Pentecostal Church were still unknown.
