Rest in Peace Goldie. You left your footprints. You lived, you loved, you were here.

I was in deep shock last night when I heard the news that Goldie had suddenly passed on at Reddington hospital. I mean, we all knew she just returned from the Grammys and full of life. At first, I thought it was one of those internet gists. I couldn't believe it until I heard it was her long term friend, Denrele who was with her that confirmed it.
I suddenly remembered her days in the Big Brother Africa House. She was so full of life, so eager to please.

At the time, I didn't recognize her beautiful qualities because I felt it was all a game. I was so quick to judge her but last night, as I heard the terrible news of her death, I suddenly realized this young woman was a very beautiful woman, in and out whom I really didn't know much about.
At some point, I heard her manager,TeeJaysStar, denied that she was dead, and I hoped so much that he was right and we were wrong, but unfortunately, it's the other way round.

Today, my heart goes out to Goldie's family, her friends and her numerous fans. Indeed, the Nigerian entertainment industry has lost a gem.

It has also further made me realize the frailty of life, how easy our breath can be taken away suddenly.

Goldie, in her short 30 years on earth lived a full life and left her footprints on the sands of time.
She lived, she loved and left her mark.
We will all definitely remember that she was here.

May her soul rest in peace and may God grant her family, friends and fans the fortitude to bear the loss.
