Whew! That's a big one oh. You know those times when you miss your way because the signs are badly placed? Those ones are like traps. There's this one just before Unilag, that sign is so unclear and the police are always there waiting to arrest you! I've fallen victim of that one once oh.

I hope with this new bill, Lagos state government will spend sometime making signs more noticeable and understandable. 

Motorists that drive on one-way traffic in Lagos will now pay a fine of N50, 000 or serve a three year jail term, following the passing of the new bill the Lagos State House of Assembly on Sunday.

82-Year Old Man Marries 70 year old woman in Kano State

An 82-year old man, Malam Uba Abdurrahman, was among the 250 men who married in the second batch of the planned group marriage organised by Kano State Hisba Board on Sunday.

NAN reports that the wedding Fatiha of some of the couples was conducted at the Kano Central Mosque under the supervision of the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero, who served as the father of the brides.

Abdurrahman told NAN in an interview shortly after the wedding that he met his 70-year old wife, Malama Amina Usman through one of the woman’s sons.

“After we had begun seeing each other, I went to Hisba Board and completed the necessary processes,” he said.

He commended the board for initiating the programme and called on the other couples to live in peace.

NAN reports that the 250 brides, comprising divorcees and single women, were selected from the 44 local government areas of the state.

NAN also reports that the wedding Fatiha of other couples was conducted in the local government areas of origin of the brides as part of the effort to decentralise the programme.

Heavy gunfire reported in Yobe today!

Heavy gunfire is being reported along Gasua road in Damaturu, Yobe state.

The Yobe State commissioner of police, Patrick Egbuniwe who confirmed this in Damaturu said the gun shot is being heard in three different locations in Damaturu but that a combine team of the JTF is working to locate the spot with a view to repelling the attack.

The sounds of gunfire began to be heard across the town around 1:30pm and forced many residents to flee to their homes

Suri Cruise to Attend Convent of the Sacred Heart Catholic School

According to The Los Angeles Times, Katie Holmes, who recently settled her divorce with Cruise and reportedly attained primary custody of the 6-year-old, has enrolled Suri in Manhattan's prestigious Convent of the Sacred Heart school.

Meaning, come school time, Suri's got to go to Catholic mass every Thursday. Her enrolment also marks her first time at an all-girls school, as she was previously home schooled.

The $38,000-a-year Sacred Heart boasts past students including Lady Gaga, Jordana Brewster, Nicky Hilton, Caroline Kennedy and more.

Kourtney Kardashian welcomed a baby girl, Penelope Scotland Disick, in Los Angeles on Sunday, 'Us Weekly' has confirmed.

Kardashian's new arrival joins her 2-year-old son, Mason, with boyfriend of five years Scott Disick, 29. A source tells Us: "The entire Kardashian/Jenner clan was at the hospital and everyone was super excited!"

In May, she was feted at baby shower hosted by her mother, Kris Jenner, and attended by 70 guests, including sisters Kim and Khloe, and their significant others, Kanye West and Lamar Odom.

"I am excited to have a girl, to have a new experience," the new mom gushed on an episode of the family's E! reality hit Keeping Up With the Kardashians. "I'm really excited for Mason to not have to compete with a little brother!"

Little Mason is equally as excited to have a baby sister. "Babies are his new obsession!" Kourtney explains.
He's not alone. Kourtney's younger sister, Khloe, 27, couldn't be more thrilled to have a new niece to spoil. "I have bought Kourt's daughter so many tutus," Khloe has said. "All I want to do is dip my niece in glitter and put a tutu on her!"

BREAKING NEWS! Suicide Bomber detonates bomb in Borno mosque. D/Gov and Shehu of Borno escape death!

The Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai El-Kanemi  and the state's deputy governor had a close shave with death today as a suicide bomber detonated his bomb just meters from where both were.The incident happened around 2:15pm, immediately after Friday prayers at the mosque in front of the Shehu's palace. Witnesses said a youth of about the age of 15 was noticed walking towards the two dignitaries.

However, the suspicious manner in which he was approaching them immediately drew the attention of the security men guarding the Shehu who quickly tried to shield him. In the process, the bomb went off, killing at least 10 other people in the vicinity and critically wounding two of the soldiers.

JTF spokesman in the state, Lt. Col. Sagir Musa confirmed the incident but said only 5 people were killed and 6 others, including the two soldiers, wounded by the blast.

The area around the Shehu's palace has been cordoned off and more soldiers have been deployed to the scene.

Sweet, pretty, intelligent and very naught Sheila of BBA just released her first single.
The single which she titled “Yours” was released under her new producers,  the auspices of Herbal Records.

Sheila hopes the song will be embraced as a simple anthem for lovers.


Remember that, it was reported during the BBA show that Sheila and Uti were dating, though the star hasn’t said anything about it, she said the song is not for Uti oh before we all conclude that she's still missing  him.

Yey! My all time Idol is 78 today! I love this man.

I was only about 10 when I first read 'The Lion and the Jewel' and I really didn't understand it or what made it a comedy until I read it again when I was about 15 and suddenly grasped the meaning. I went ahead to read it about 10 times more at different times in my life and I couldn't help but to devour anything he wrote. One of the plays I can never forget is 'The Trials of Brother Jero' that one was one a classic. Inshort, I have a huge smile on my face now, just remembering it. 

I must say there were some I never really truly understood like 'The man died' but I just loved reading them. I also loved his poems so much especially 'the telephone conversation' it 

Happy Birthday Prof! Maybe one day, my dream of going on a lunch date with him will finally come to pass. 

Government holds mass burial for tanker explosion victims in Port Harcourt

The Rivers State government has given a mass burial for most of Thursday’s oil tanker explosion victims.

 The State sector commander for the commission, Kayode Olagunju told reporters in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital that 89 of the 95 persons who died in the petrol tanker explosion were given a mass burial at Okobe village in the Ahoada West Local Government Area of the State.
